You’ll work directly with people in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs.

Wage: $20.00/hour (The rate of pay and pay scale provided for this position are based on title and geographical location) Full range scale: $20.00-$22.30

Job Description

  • Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment 
  • Follow all support plans to ensure that care is person centered, which includes helping individuals reach their goals and overcome behavioral challenges.
  • Support levels could include but are not limited to: verbal assistance, partial and/or full physical assistance, and performing personal care tasks as needed, which may include dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.  
  • Maintain cleanliness of the home and meal preparation 
  • Employees may need to handle and de-escalate inappropriate behavior from the individuals such as verbal and/or physical aggression
  • Assist the individual(s) in the community such as appointments, shopping and personal outings, etc.
  • Use public transportation on community outings (free of charge for support staff) – These outings can happen any time of the year, we cannot decline to assist the individual due to weather conditions- unless it is deemed a health and safety risk. 

Qualifications

  • Valid US Driver's License
  • Must be 18+ years or older 
  • 1 year of previous caregiving experience (Preferred)
  • Good communication is key in this role. You’ll rely on your reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.
